I do not claim to be a transmission expert and could be wrong but the "real" rock crushers had straight cut gears....not helical cut gears. I believe they were first released by GM in 1969 or 1970. I had one in my 1970 Chevelle SS 454-450HP LS6 car. I bought it new. The Rock Crusher was very noisy due to the straight cut gears.
